In spring 1936, in a working-class district in the north of Paris. In this blue-collar neighbourhood, three inhabitants who are also show-business workers and close friends were unemployed since the music hall - Chansonia, the music hall, closed down four months earlier.

Pigoil, thirty years with Chansonia, could lose custody of his 12-year-old son, JoJo without a job. Thus, he decides to re-open the music hall, together with his old colleagues, Milou and Jacky. They decide to take hold of their destiny: occupying the Chansonia and producing the "hit" musical with the arrival of a mysterious and attractive young singer, Douce.

However, since they are lack of experience and each one of them has different motives, the music hall closes again very soon. Pigoil doesn't want to give up because this is the dream of a whole neighbourhood and the only way he can win his son back...
